Avocado Egg Turkey Burger

Back in the beginning of March, I had it on my heart to participate in Lent this year. For anyone unfamiliar, Lent is a season of 40 days leading up the celebration of the Resurrection of Jesus. During this time, a person is supposed to reflect on their own weakness and rely on God’s strength just like Jesus did while being tempted in the wilderness for 40 days.

Many people decide to give up certain hobbies or bad habits, but a very common option for lent is changing eating habits. I fell into overindulging during the winter holidays and was feeling really gross. I was praying and felt like this would be a great opportunity to get healthy, but not in my own strength. I would have the constant reminder and accountability of the Lord through it all!

Much to my surprise, the next day my mom said that she wanted to do Keto for Lent. I was thrilled! My whole family ended up joining the journey to healthier living during the season. Today is day 28, but it has flown by because I am getting creative with my food!

I have been documenting pictures and recipes, as well as keeping track of the macros (carbs, fats, and proteins) involved. Now, I would love to share these experiences with you on the Lifestyle category of my blog! I hope that this can be an encouragement as we find extraordinary ways to eat healthy together!
