Just Because

One of my best friends from college named Jen was always an amazing card giver. If I did one simple act of kindness towards her, you better believe by the next day there was a thank you note with my name on it. Today I was thinking about the Just Becausecategory in the card section of the store. I really love the spontaneity of these letters. It is not that these notes are more significant than birthdays, holidays, or get well soon, rather that they are a surprise to the receiver.

I think about the many times Jesus would love others just becausethey came to Him as He was walking or invited Him to their homes. It might have seemed an inconvenience to some, but for our Perfect God, it was a divine moment of opportunity to love well.

Who in your life could use encouragement today? Maybe it is not a Just Because card, but what could you do to show someone they are valuable in God’s eyes and yours? Many times it is those Spirit-led moments of obedience to love people, that are the life transforming experiences to those around us.

Do not owe anyone anything, except to love one another, for the one who loves another has fulfilled the law. Romans 13:8 CSB

Much Love,
