An Ode to the Beach

As the waves crash into a foamy trail

I taste the salty ocean air

The crescendo of the crashes

Takes away my cares

The clouds that loom above flow fast

But not as quick as the waters below

Oh, how I would like to press pause

And never have to go

Sandpipers brave the monstrous tide

Digging up the days snack

And with a tide that rips I guarantee

The dolphins won’t be back

The pelicans camouflage above the clouds

The seagulls try to sing

The crabs hide deeper in the sand

As I feel it start raining

Goodbye ocean, goodbye beach

For now it’s time to leave

Until next trip I’'ll remember you

And see you in my dreams

Much Love,

Emma Danzey
