All of Creation

For weeks I was aching to see these emerald waters, but the smooth and crystal clear sea is never a guarantee. I prayed so often for clear, flat waters and sunshine. Unfortunately, I did not think to talk to God about the temperature…

By God’s grace, yesterday my prayers were answered with a big “yes!” As I began walking down the shoreline, the ocean did not feel as numbingly cold as the day before. Suddenly, three pods of dolphins appeared jumping, playing, and feeding. It was a spectacular view of God’s creation and got me thinking. These beautiful animals were not just putting on a show for the beach or fishing for survival, they were worshiping the Lord. We were not the audience, we were the witnesses.

How countless are your works, Lord! In wisdom you have made them all; the earth is full of your creatures. Here is the sea, vast and wide, teeming with creatures beyond number - living things both large and small. There the ships move about, and Leviathan, which you formed to play there. - Psalm 104:24-26 CSB

Even if countless people around the world refuse to worship God, all of creation is pointing the glory to Him. The dolphins do not steal the wonder, they reflect it. It would be easy to magnify the creation, but may we remember whatever person, place or thing that leads us to awe and wonder, it is just a clue to the greater mystery, which is our Creator.

For his invisible attributes, that is, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen since the creation of the world, being understood through what he has made. As a result, people are without excuse. - Romans 1:20 ESV

Let the heavens rejoice, let the earth be glad; let the sea resound, and all that is in it. Let the fields be jubilant, and everything in them; let all the trees of the forest sing for joy. Let all creation rejoice before the Lord, for he comes, he comes to judge the earth. He will judge the world in righteousness and the peoples in his faithfulness. - Psalm 96:11-13 NIV

The sea is his; he made it. His hands formed the dry land. Come, let us worship and bow down; let us kneel before the Lord our Maker. For he is our God, and we are the people of his pasture, the sheep under his care. Today, if you hear his voice - Psalm 95:5-7 CSB

Whatever God puts in your path, enjoy the amazement and use it as a reminder for the wonder that is the Lord. He is the adventure.

Much Love,

Emma Danzey
